Chief Audit Executive

  • Leads the global audit services team in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Munich and Hong Kong and co-sourced resources in Bangalore India.

  • Responsible for executing the strategic audit plan, company-wide enterprise risk assessment (ERM), and global SOX project management and testing.

  • Reports directly to the Audit Committee and indirectly to the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

  • Also has global oversight responsibility for Loss Prevention and Risk & Insurance functions.

Senior Vice President - Internal Audit

  • Oversees the corporate-wide SOX program and drives continuous improvement to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302 and 404 requirements including coordination with Controllership, business process owners and external auditors. 

  • He also leads the company’s global corporate and IT internal audit functions and a team of internal and third party resources to evaluate and report on internal controls.

Senior Vice President & Chief Internal Auditor

  • Responsible for worldwide Internal Audit function and SOX compliance; reported directly to the Blockbuster Audit Committee and administratively to the CFO. Established outsourced Internal Audit function and transitioned to in-house staff. Led company wide fraud risk assessment project and FCPA compliance procedures and training. Implemented electronic audit workpapers and high impact audit reports. Improved efficiency for SOX compliance activities, streamlined control testing and reduced costs by 50%.

Vice President Internal Audit

  • Responsible for 8-person Internal Audit Department reporting to the EVP General Counsel and Audit Committee Chairman. Met regularly with senior executives, Audit Committee and full Board of Directors. Provided leadership and direction for company's SOX control documentation and testing activities and co-led implementation of Year 1 SOX compliance program with the CIO. Introduced presentation-style audit reports, developed data analytics, implemented corporate compliance hotline, and established guest auditor program. Published quarterly internal audit newsletter and championed the identification and dissemination of best practices.

  • Chief Audit Executive responsible for the worldwide activities of the internal and external audit functions. Key member of Skytel senior management team. Met regularly with Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Also served as senior executive responsible for coordination and management of all Year 2000 readiness activities for Skytel and international affiliates. Led the Y2K Steering Committee and Y2K Project Office. Supervised staff of 9 individuals based in Jackson, MS and Miami, FL. Enhanced internal audit department and increased audit productivity by over 30% and conducted COSO training for Staff and Chairman of Audit Committee. Led audit team responsible for identification of multi-million dollar unbilled revenue lapse. Initiated annual intern program for comprehensive testing of revenue assurance and billing.   • Directed the Firm’s Internal Audit practice in Texas. Assisted companies in establishing internal audit functions and outsourcing existing departments; met with Audit Committees and Senior Management; led consulting teams on internal audit, process re-engineering and risk assessment projects. Directed major Life & Health Insurer audits covering policy issuance, claims, reinsurance, and other key financial process areas; led the Internal Audit Department (staff of 7) on an interim basis for Mass Transit Agency; led fixed asset and corporate closing process improvement project resulting in significant reduction in closing time and system performance improvements for national PCS Communications Service Provider; developed audit universe, customized risk model, and strategic plan for internal audit function for Regional Supermarket Chain; developed risk assessment model and internal audit program for large-market National Radio Broadcast Company; developed corporate-wide treasury and cash management procedures for medium-market National Radio Broadcaster; reviewed purchase requisition business requirements and developed policies and procedures to improve control for multinational Marketing Research & Data base Company.
